A man in his 30s—chased down in a park by softball players that heard a girl’s screams, and then arrested by police—will be in court on Monday following an alleged groping incident in Greenfield Park involving a teenaged girl.
Longueuil police Const. Stéphanie Jalbert says the suspect is believed to have sexually assaulted the girl last Wednesday at Parc René-Veillet.
“The suspect [allegedly] touched the genitals of the victim over her clothes, she confirmed to CJAD News.
“The victim is a teenage girl, the suspect is a man in his 30s who has been arrested. He is going to appear Monday morning at the Longueuil courthouse,” she added in a later interview with CTV News.
Several people were playing softball at a nearby diamond in the park. Kyle Justin Boutler tells CTV News they heard screams, and saw a middle-aged white man come running out of the bathroom pulling his pants up.
