Man Disguised As Woman Sneaks Into Women’s Locker Room, Takes Pictures

A man disguised as a female entered the women’s locker room at the UC Berkeley Recreational Sports Facility on two separate occasions last week, allegedly observing and taking pictures of women using the facilities.

On both days, RSF staff members noticed the imposter – described as a male in his 20s between 5-foot-4 and 5-foot-6 with dark hair and a thin build – after he had already gained entrance to the locker rooms, according to UCPD Lt. Alex Yao.

On Oct. 4 at about 9:40 p.m., a member of the facility’s custodial staff spotted the man, who appeared to be taking pictures with his cell phone while in the locker room, Yao said. Yao added that when the custodian confronted the individual, he fled the scene immediately.

Yao added that UCPD, which was notified by the worker, could not locate the suspect.

“The suspect was described to be wearing a white gym towel on his head and to be covering his jaw and mouth,” Yao said.

“The man’s costume also included large, dark sunglasses, sweatpants with rolled-up legs and curly shoulder length black hair believed to be a wig,” Yao added.
